Well, my computer is getting old and im getting laggy whenever i start recording with fraps. So my question is exactly what is causing this?
Don't know much about my computer set up but here goes:

AMD Athlon XP 2200+
1GB DDR RAM
Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 Ultra
...

That's all i could find atm :)

Thanks

Bumping will get your topics closed immediately on here, please don't bump.

In my honest opinion I would upgrade your CPU and add 1 more GB of RAM... ok and the video card too. You also need to look at the FSB of your motherboard. Most newer motherboards are going to be around 800 MHz to about ~1.2 GHz. Your HDD can be the worst part. If possible, try to have a separate HDD for recording. A small 40 GB HDD would do the trick, maybe an 80 GB to be safe. If you want really nice performance out of recording, getting 3-4 80 GB HDD and running RAID 0 would help a lot.

im sorry for the bump  im just an impatient guy :P

This post helps alot , one question tho: what exactly do you mean by running a RAID 0 ?

thanks

RAID 0 is best described here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redundant_array_of_independent_disks).
