Briefly about SB

<Social Butterflies> is an allaince guild of Azgalor. Originally started as a "female toon" guild, over the progression of the server we have evolved to include toons from both genders, but still have one of the highest RL female population of any guild on our server. Hence we consider ourselves a female-friendly guild.

Our members are mature adults from all walks of live who place a strong emphasis on social interaction and creative artistry. Our guild leadership is active, and has the ability to plan months ahead allowing the guild nice forward progress on all fronts.

Our guild infrastructure is detailed below and we are a forum/vent guild. Our members are expected to use forums religiously and be on vent when playing Wow. SB members are also encourage to engage in non-wow topics such as *gasp* RL.

Infrastructure & Movie Making

Approximately two months ago our guild leadership decided we would start a Movie Division of our guild. Since that time we have been installing guild infrastructure to accomidate our new division.

At this time we are happy to announce that most of our infrastructure is complete and we will now begin recruiting for people who are active in either directly making movies or supporting personnel.

Part of our infrastructure upgrade was a full Flash website with a FLV Flash Comm streaming server. (This allows streaming of movies in real time without waiting for full downloading.) Our site also includes a Phpbb forum which is modded to provide video linking from Youtube & Google Video.

The website is still in beta and awaiting the final changes. We are slated to publicly launch our site within the next 2-4 weeks. When the site is launched, we believe we are the first guild in the World of Warcraft to possess a site with these capabilities.

Although the site is not public, we are allowing potential recruits for SB's Movie Division to view the site at: www.butterflywow.com (not for public viewing pending official launch - please do not repost)

What we are seeking

<Social Butterflies> is a closed guild. We do not accept applicants to the guild except under special circumstances. However, occassionally SB does recruit people to fill certain position available in our guild. Currently SB is building a Movie Division of the guild.

For these reasons we have decided to take applicants which fall under the following categories:

1) We are looking for graphic artists or people who have an interest or who already are producing movies. Sony Vegas software and other music editing program familiarity a plus.

2) Any artist or entertainers who might aid in production of movies such as script writers, directors, voice actors. You may be professional or simply an interested amateur.

3) RL artists or entertainers including actors, dancers, painters, graphic artist, etc.

4) People who are exceptional at flash, PhPbb, etc.. with graphical design skills.

5) RL females - SB has always maintained a internal percentage of RL females to RL males. We were orginally a all female-toon guild, and since then we have allowed male toons, but we intend to keep our guild ratios balanced.

All Applicants MUST work well with other people, be drama free, have a warm and upbeat personality. We are looking for shinny happy people! Fun and whimsical humor a plus. (we do not like morbid or sick humor) Mature, adult behavior, and responsible please. Oh good work ethic!

If you fit any of these qualifications, please post an application on our public forum. Please tell us about yourself and include examples of your portfolios or works.

Remember SB is a Vent & Forum guild. Members are expected to be active on both the forums (by posting and reading) and in vent when playing Wow.

Cross-Server Recruitment

We welcome cross-server recruitment, but before transfering any characters, we ask that you first make a new character if you are accepted and get to know the guild. SB leadership reserves the right to "try-out" new guildies therefore we would like you to first tryout the guild if you are accepted. We are caution on who we invite and generally applications take 2 weeks before approval (guild vote).

Endgame & Instance Grouping

SB has a policy of not discussing our endgame progress publicly especially in recruitment discussions. I will make an exception on this board since it is so geared towards our ideal candidates and this question will eventually come up. Our reasons for not discussing this is that we don't want people to join our guild with endgame as the primary focus. We are looking for social players not people who are looking for a raiding group.

SB just started 20 and 40 man raiding a short time ago. Our raiding is geared towards the casual player and not hardcore raiders.

SB raiding is conducted in a very organized and serious manner to insure fun and forward progress. We have many raids approximately 5 raiding days (3 20 man 2 40 man) each week. Members are not required to attend any raiding days and can pick and choose subject to the 40 man limitations below.

We have 4 raid leaders and our 40 mans are lead by 2 leaders who have strong endgame background (including being involved in other groups which have downed 10 bosses from naxx, and all other bosses from any other instances).

Our 40 mans are lead on a structured core group (which is almost full) which requires both mat preparation and forum signups.

The 40 man is a new addition to the guild and after a little longer than a month of raiding the core group is almost full and we are doing MC on fris and single bosses from AQ40, BWL, dragons on Sats.

Being accepted to the guild does not mean you will be able to raid 40 mans in the guild because you have to wait for a spot to open in the core 40 man raid.

As far as our 5/10 mans, you can generally find a group within the guild if you are patient.

Please post and questions and comments on our SB's forums since I generally do not check messages on other forums.

Very nice post Lemonlime. I hope you'll receive some help with the project.

I hope in future we will have an own section for "LF Movie Makers".
