Easy set up - alter hosts file and download a small patch (easily removed also)
WE HAVE:
1) Customised Damage for players to increase effectiveness (and balance)
2) Heavily customised Raid Bosses to make them just right
3) GM Lottery for GM Coins which can be spent at the GM Prize Managers
4) GM Prize Managers to buy just about anything off (with GM Coins)
5) Customised Spawns - special, just for ShadowLight
6) Special Events Weekly to win GM Coins (See the forums)
7) A Test server to make sure everything is stable before moving to main
Special Champion Mobs - We gave them a little something special
9) A Monster Invasion Quest to gain a heap of GM coins once you're past level 40
10) A Chat Filtering system to keep this an all ages server
11) Modified Cubics (They were pretty useless before)
12) Increased Party range for XP
13) All recipes have been increased 10% for success EG 60% is now 70%
14) Special Ordering on Warehouses/Inventory/etc to make things a bit easier to find
15) Olympiad Hero selection is fixed
16) A Community Buffer in each town and low level Catacombs
17) The Baby Cougar Heals for Mana instead of HP
18) The Blacksmith of Mammon does B grade upgrades
19) The Blacksmith of Mammon does A Grade exchanges
20) Fishing has been modified to be easier
21) Specialty Items can be bought at the GM Event Manager such as: Super Speed Coke
22) A number of skills have been fixed/tweaked
23) players can get wyverns from a quest at Katz!!
24) Baby pet modifications to make them better!
25) Red Striders are available from clan halls
26) Level 81 Skills
27) New Hats with Skills
28) Kamael Items unsealable at BS Mamaon
29) Common Items Unsealable (GM Prize Manager)
30) Hellbound is active and S80 items are available
31) Custom RBs for PvP event funness
32) A Party Bonus in Exp SP for people not on the same IP address
33) Instances that other servers haven't implemented yet!

I am a player on this server and this is my experience:
Always a friendly community. I never lag. (I live in New Zealand) There are lots of events available. GM listen to players with an open mind. Ideas are never rejected out of hand. This server is very player-friendly it is built to please (the way it should be) and player opinions are highly valued.
English speaking community that includes over seas players.
This server has been running for 5 years or something! Ive been playing on it for most of that time (on and off due to real life).
I have searched for other servers and this is the best for me by far. ShadowLight is unique and very playable. All players welcome hardcore and non
