the site and the screen shots is made by carcass of guild RIP on garithos server.

I am in beta and the NDA is lifted. I would like to share my experiences and hopefully answer any of those curious questions you have. In the end it would be nice to let everyone in beta!

I'll start with screenies and some pros and cons.

Pros:
- The Dark Portal is as cool as you thought it would be!!
- The Outland is huge, plenty of area to explore.
- There is plenty of content, lots of quests.
- The story is robust(you will see massive corpses of 'famous' lore)
- The mobs are very challenging.
- Each zone in the Outlands has some type of world PvP objective.
- Each new race has many subtle little things that make it cool. (Blood Elves have self sweeping brooms that just wander around cleaning the floors)
- Blood Elf racials a mana drain and a silence(well explore this more later)
- Loot is plentiful, sockets provide vast flexiblity
- Arena has massive potential(need more people in beta since there wasn't much going on right now)

Cons:
- The flying mounts that are 150% speed are 5000g.
- The mob models are basically the same as the rest of WoW's models with new 'skin textures'.
- Lvl 60 basic mobs are difficult, feels like there needs to be balance here.
- Sockets are overwhelming. To some that like it simple, these sockets become to much.
- Loot is unbalanced. GREENs are better then some of today's instance EPICS. Example - Lvl 57 GREEN boots that had +19 spell damage AND healing, +19 int, AND + 14 Crit rating(no more Crit %) and the loot dropped off of a basic mob. There were blues linked in our beta guild that were better then Tier 2 Epic loot.
- The Mage Water Elemental talent is a big disappointment. It looks basic and doesn't lat long enough to be of any real help(45 sec)
- Mage Invisibility is to short to be really useful
- I have this 'fear' that once I've explored all of the Outland, which will be by the end of this weekend, I'll be saying 'that is not enough for me to continue on'. Which leads me into...
- It feels like the same grind, better gear, more sockets, more 'i'm better then you'. Now for some that just want content and care less about better then you, it will last for 2 months and you'll be done. For those that are gear crazy, it will be endless because of sockets.

UI Improvements And You

Blizzard typically has never been too proud to recognize when someone else has an idea better than what they’ve come up with. Over the nearly-two years that WoW has been live, they’ve occasionally adopted some features of the more popular UI Addons into the actual game interface—Scrolling Combat Text and CT Raid Assist to name the two most prominent.

It appears they’ve kept that up. In “Interface Options” you now can check a box labeled “Auto Self Cast,” which will make any helpful spells you cast without having a friendly player or NPC targeted automatically target yourself. Quite handy. There’s also a Blizzard-made enemy cast bar, which when checked lets you see what an enemy is casting right beneath their portrait. Pretty nifty.

By far the coolest (and I’d imagine most helpful) addition is a brand-spanking-new way of finding groups and parties. From a button down on your main menu, you can access it—and it’s pretty damn cool. There are two tabs, one for Looking For Group and one for Looking For More. You can select from a drop-down menu if you’re seeking a group for a Dungeon, Raid, Quest (any quests in your log), Zone, or Battleground. From there, you get a second drop-down menu for the specific area you’re interested in. Any parties in the LFM tab will then be able to see you. I’ve not had much time to play around with it, but it certainly looks sleek and is miles ahead of the old meeting stones.

Speaking of Battlegrounds—I found the Battlemasters in Silvermoon but noticed that there was no longer a Horde Warbringer to turn in Marks of Honor. However, when I stopped by the Alterac Valley camp, I noticed that in addition to selling items for various (Horde Symbol, representing honor gained) they would sell items—such as the Frostwolf Howler—for a certain number of Marks of Honor. Interesting.

Later on, I’d run into a Dwarf Warrior and kill him for 7 Honor (though to be fair, I didn’t do much damage to him under the effects of Resurrection Sickness and with a Hunter helping me, so that’s probably closer to the low end of Honor gain)… just to put things into perspective.

But enough of that. Outland, baby! The Dark Portal awaits us...

Read this on the wow forrums but I looked at the Ui thing and WHAT is the Auto Loot feature? Does that change the bind key like Shift + Right click? Or can you press the key and auto loot O_o

How it still has the lookingforgroup channel but now they have a lookingforgroup tab.

i don't think it will bind i think you'll beable to choose whitch you perfer to use.

i like the new hunter pet..although it looks a lot like the bats in Eastern Plaguelands with a different beak and color.

Auto-Loot is probably like the add-on that was made. when you click on something it doesnt just open the window, it throws everything in your inventory. so you dont have to click each item, you just loot everything when you click

I am not entirely sure on that. in beta it is sped up for testing and blizzard replied on that.

Iv heard blizzard say that in BC they would like everyone to get to End-game so they can enjoy the new instances and other various things.

But I am not postative on this question.

My guess is that it might not be As long as 1-60 but it's not going to be easy to level.. but it's just a guess...

that question can't be answered in beta since it's sped up but if i hear anything else I will be sure to post :D

That's World PvP. Ganking belongs to it. But new players who buy TBC and original WoW at the same time are going to be pissed.

UPDATE: if you don't know yet Blizzard is Revamping the honor system completly

Now you can PvP "at your own pace" So you won't have any competition and since ALL pvp items now cost honor it should work out well!

Well.. some guy in beta got 1000g from level 60-68 just by leveling, so shouldnt be impossible to get those 5000g i think (he might have been lucky with drops, dont know)

Outland Journey *New Movie* is up here is explaining what your seeing (it's kind of confusing

Outland Journey video is up. I apologize in advance that it's so large(500mb), but after HOURS of editing and slicing parts out, I just couldn't slice anymore...there's a lot of great things to see!!

I have to give you a little tour guide run through so you understand what you are seeing:

Our flight will be leaving momentarily from the Dark Portal flightpath. We are on our way to the large neutral city of Shattrath. As we take off you notice how large the Dark Portal really is. As we look around the land, we will eventually come up to Hellfire Citadel...a massive structure. We keep going on our flight and pass by many of the various flightpaths. Enjoy your view during the ride for we are about to land in the city of Shattrath. Upon landing we see armies of Draenei training for battle. Moving on...watch your step as we board the elevator...up we go to a high perch of Shattrath so we can see some of the features of this massive hub from above. Let's not bother the commander as he preps his troops...wow, those mounts look menacing. Let's step over here, if you could, wipe your feet before we venture on this red carpet on our way up to the top. Ah finally here, take a quick look around, but watch your step...it's a long way down.

I think it's time we take another trip, but this time we'll use a little magic. We'll go to the inner circle of the city and use the portals you see here...hmmm....where is the one we want, ah! there it is. We are on our way to Silvermoon, the city of the Blood Elves. As we arrive we can see the crazy mages playing their tricks, let's not stay to long I'd rather not be turned into a frog. We will take a quick trip through the city, well...look at that, they are all lined up for our arrival. Let's move quickly, I want to show you a interesting sight...watch those mechanical guards. Don't fall behind, we are almost there...up the hill here, ah there they are...the Blood Elf mounts, curious creatures indeed! Well we are close to the end of our trip, let's make our way past these wandering dead and jump on this ship...watch your step again, the boarding walkway seems to be broken. There we go, ok everyone take a seat....the captain is pointing off to the horizon, this should be a exciting trip, hold on!!!

Wonder what frequenly asked questions for the beta holders? well I got those questions here. these are all questions that real people asked Carcass during his beta adventures

Q: Very nice post. I'm interested in what you have to say about the blood elf and draenei racials. Does Heroic Presence (Draenei +1 to hit racial) scale with level and stack if there is another Draenei in your group?

A: You were the first question and I have not found anything on this. Any Draenei leveling help with this one?

Q: Cap is 67 isn't it?
A: Yes.

Q: What is the level req to train "master"? (for professions)
A: Master profession level requires level 50 and a skill of 275.

Q: What green armor, green weapons, blue items and purple items of level 61-70 will disenchant into?
A: Most of us are either wearing or selling these items so far. The attempts made to DE these has giving the message "you can't DE this item".

Q: Could you take some screenies of new pots and such? Also new recipes?
A: On my list of things to do.

Q: Can you please, take screenshots of the Arena Sets, Arena rewards and all of that?
A: Arena vendor isn't available from what we can see.

Q: What is the crit rating about? How does that work, since it appears it replaces % to crit.
A: 14 crit rating looks to be 1% Crit. The character tab now shows your chance to hit and crit %.

Q: Can you PLEASE tell me if you can still purchse rewards from your Arathi Basin / Warsong Gulch / Alterac Valley exalted vendors?
A: Posted a screenie of the Warsong BG Vendor. You can see the new Honor Point prices.

Q: Are the BG weapons that will be blue in BC have the same stats as they do now?
A: It looks that way for the most part. I have a dressing room video that covers this from the Horde side.

Q: Can you put up some screens of the cockatrice and the Draenei mounts?
A: Draenei and BloodElf are both in screenshot section.

Q: Video doesn't play for me, help!!
A: I used a basic MPEG-4 Codec. It's XviD Codec, dll name xvidvlw.dll. Windows Media Player 10 plays them fine.

Q: Please use YouTube or Google Video!
A: I spent most of Sunday(6 hours) moving the videos to both then I watched them...total garbage quality steaming through Flash. I can't give you dressing room videos if you can't see stats. Just be patient on the downloads from FileFront, the videos are worth it.

Q: Are there any new items on Darkmoon Faire?
A: It doesn't look like they will be doing anything for the Faire in BC.

Q: What is the experience amount that 60/61 mobs are giving?
A: This is inflated right now, so we can't get actual release numbers now.

Q: Are current items having an overall? For example I saw a green dagger lvl 60 with 47 dps. So what's happening to the Lobotomizer? Is it green now, or is slightly better?
A: All my current items are staying the same other then stats like Crit % going to Crit rating...etc. The epics are still epics, this is why people are complaining a little on how new greens are better then some epics. My Lobo is going to be old news with some of these drops we're seeing.

Q: Is the new battleground open?
A: We do not see a Battlemaster for it, so we are assuming 'no'.

Q: Is there a opening Cinematic yet?
A: No, but I have the videos up of the new races intros.

Q: Blizzard has mentioned that warlock and hunter pets should scale better with the player in the expansion - have you seen this being implemented, and if so, how?
A: Posted by another member - A hunter in my guild posted this comparison shot of her pet on live and beta. (She's got 4/8 GS, 4/8 DS, and other assorted BWL-level gear. She said the beta shot was with 3/3 in the BM armor talent.)

Q: Have you used vanish in pvp yet? Is it still negated by auto-attacks?
A: I have not noticed it being broken by auto-attacks. But I have noticed that it's not clearing any debuffs like it did after the Rogue patch.Remember, at level 62 you get a new rank of Vanish which starts to balance out what today seems to be issues with Vanish mechanics.

Q: How do sockets and socketing work?
A: You match up the color of the socket on your item with a jewel that can be socketed in that color. You then Shift-Right Click the item to open the socket dialog. Then you just drag the jewel into the spot at the bottom. You can re-socket an item, it just destroys the old jewel.

Q: How does the new Mutilate(41 Talent) compare to Backstab?
A: Mutilate can now replace backstab in most situations. I have been having great success with this build so far. It is a great talent and make poisons finally worthwhile.

Q: Will reputations be reset?
A: Quote by Tseric:
REPUTATION WILL NOT BE RESET IN THE EXPANSION.

This rumor has been perpetuated by people who are not fully understanding the interaction and change that will occur between Battlegrounds reputation and the new honor system. While it is true that BG reputations will not be involved with honor rewards the way they were previously, they are not being reset. No reputation is being reset.

Q: Do you have to be level 70 to fight in the Arena? or will it be something like 20-30, 30-40 etc?
A: You can form Arena groups at 60 and we were fighting people that were level 63's. I'm assuming it will be bracketed at the different levels. It is NOT 70 only.

Someone asked a question "What's the speed on the flying mounts on air as well as land?

Here is what Carcass wrote

60% ground, 60% air for the 225.

Normal foot speed: 1
Normal mount speed: 1.6
Normal flying mount: 1.6
Druid flight form: 1.6
Epic ground mount: 2.0
Epic Pally mount: 2.2
Epic flying mount: 3.8

Epic flying mount is 2.375x (or 137.5%) faster than normal flying mount


I'm guessing there IS a normal flying mount and a EPIC flying mount.

Ok....Flying FACTION mount VIDEO for Horde Windrider is up. Same pricing for Alliance Griffon mounts. It's 900g for 225 Riding Skill. It's 5000g for 300 riding skill. With rep of course it becomes slightly cheaper like the regular mounts did.

As you will see in the video, I bought all the 300 riding skill Windrider mounts so you can see each and paid the 5000g for the 300 skill training so I can ride these mounts. For the 300 riding skill mounts it's 280% Flight Speed Increase. When on the ground they are 100% Speed Increase like normal epic mounts.

When you land it acts like a normal mount and you can take off at any point using the spacebar.

Next up the Netherdrakes when they release them.
