View Full Version : Settings when Rendering in Vegas?
Hello, I think Ive figured most out, Ive managed my fraps, got my comp to 2048 MB RAM, etc, and everything runs smoothly, I am good with the editing, adding things from ModelViewer etc etc, but I have only one problem now.
When Rendering, "Comp~." The Movie, so It goes down in filesize (Compress?)
It sucks, I need somone to help me how to set everything up, how to do so when the movie is compressed, the quality Is the best, and smoothe, and evertthing IS very clear and good, but still It shouldnt take insanely much space, Ive chekced the settings, and i can chose like, video v9, VLC etcetc, 1024 x 768 ,
Any help will be highly appriciated
Thanks

Dear Enja.
Try this link: http://www.warcraftmovies.com/articleview.php?id=21
Thiras was so nice to explain this to us.
A little tip: Instead of giving up and write on the forums, just surf around on the internet about this. For example, check the stickies :)

That guide pretty much sums it up on how to render... it seems hard but thats about as easy as it can be.
I tried To rend the DivX Way, but It just ends up with that when I try to run the movie, I get some Virus warning thingy, and it all crashes, and my explorer crashes >:<

Sounds like there's something wrong with your computer, then.
Download Prevx1 through this link http://www.prevx.com/security.asp
Follow the guide how to install it, and then scan your computer. It will tell if there's any infections.
Then make sure you have the newest DivX codec: http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/
Try using the guide again -> Render -> and see if it worked.

I'll try that, thank you matey
Alright, I got It all working, Downloaded Virutal Dub, and so on, Everything has HIGH quality, good size, but one little problem. I think I'm doing something wrong when adding the sound with VirutalDub. Cause I Got a 13 Sec video clip, all rendered and done. And a 13 sec mp3 file, that takes up like 500kb, other words, nothing at all..
But when I "Save AS" When adding the sound in virutalDub, The File of my movie gets double as big, (5mb -> 10mb) Its like im adding another movie, on my movie.
help? :S (This is the last thing, then i got EVERYTHING sorted out)

Enja, it's all about quality when rendering videos. The better the quality is, the bigger the files get.
That's all I can tell you.

No, But. Ok, I first Rend It once, .. Rend It twice. And Its Comped, and Rendered, and everything is done.. And its in the size of 10 MB.
(The Movie, without sound)
So now, when I want to add sound I need to Use Virutual Dub, Open the MOvie, Add the Sound, and then save As. But when I do that, The Movie went to like 20 MB .
How is that possible, when the mp3 file, was only 600 Kb Large?

Would help me a lot if you showed me a screenshot, but let me ask you: Which file format are you "saving it as"?
