i cant really see what your talking about, but im going to assume that it simply brings the quality down
editors have to have a specific size and codec to work with, wmm uses what amounts to a DV codec and a resolution much smaller than that your FRAPS footage probably is
thats why the quality is so different
as far as free video editing programs go, nothing can touch imovie. you could edit a wow vid and deliver it in 720p if you wanted.

The Quality isn't Windows movie maker it is Fraps...That is what your useing i'm assuming?
There really isn't anyway to get the quality up just make sure you have "Full Screen" Selected if your comp can handle it

uh, ok
but if you FRAPs full screen and then just dump it into wmm, its going to resize your video right back down to about where it would be if it were half

WMM is not one of the greatest movie editing softwares, although it is easy to use. What you can do is configure your own template and manually jack the file size up, The larger the file size the better the quality will be, but you will not get anything as nice as the uncompressed AVI from Fraps in WMM.
