NOTE! This trick does not work with the v2.0 itself but instead is a work-around.

What you need:
- A copy of WoW before patch v2.0 (v1.12.x will do fine)
- WoWmodelviewer
- A text editor

I was lucky to have a copy of an older WoW version (v1.11) on my laptop's HD so I decided to test this and it worked.

1. If you already have installed v2.0 and have an older WoW version somewhere else, you can copy the older version to the same computer with v2.0 but copy it to a different directory.

2. Locate the config.ini file from your WoWmodelviewer directory and open it with a text editor.

3. Look for the lines starting with Path and TestPath.

4. Now, modify the lines so that they point to the 'old' WoW folder on your computer (assuming that you have the v2.0 and old WoW on the same machine), like this:
Path=Y:\\WoWBackup_1.11\\World of Warcraft\\Data\\
TestPath=Y:\\WoWBackup_1.11\\World of Warcraft\\WoWTest\\Data\\

Note that you need to put two \'s on the pathnames.

5. Your WoWmodelviewer should work now. At least mine did :D

I haven't tested this with mapviewer yet but the procedure should be the same.

Feedback, improvements etc stuff are welcome :)

I also found that you can burn all of the MPQ files to a DVD so as not to take up more space on your HD. Also, if you don't have an old copy of WoW (pre 2.0), just purchase the $1.99 WoW trial at Best Buy (or wherever you can find it) and you'll have what you need.
