Vegas 7 Two Pass VBR rendering deteriorates over time
 

The video I'm rendering starts out perfect for the first 10 seconds, perfect quality, 1152x864, all settings matching original footage from fraps. The problem is that from that point on the video quality becomes more and more pixelated as time passes. By the time I've rendered a full min of video, the pixelation is atrocious. What could be causing the loss in quality? It's all one clip, all the same settings. Thanks for your help.

Could you give us something to see so that we know exactly what is happening?

There's definitely something wrong with this video. It almost looks like you applied a mosaic effect to it at the end.

Post up a ss of your render settings. I think it's just a simple fix but I need to see your settings to be sure.

After Closely Inspecting the settings you are using it seem to me like you are using VBR variable bitrate which is causing the pixilation.

Try using CBR two-pass and constant bitrate first.


If that does not work then ditch the WM3 codec that you are using to render it out to an avi.
Use the Divx Codec. It is much better and will probably solve the problems you are having.

finally said screw it and used the xvid encoder, works like a charm, thanks for the guide thiras!
