Sigh... Drakedog

Just noticed the WCM banner and my hate for him just grew more.

Why do I hate him? In my opinion he adds NOTHING new to the warlock class, and any other warlock movie is easely compareable with his.
I heard he "invented" the warlock PvP, but hell who cares? The "creator" of hunter pvp is never seen as a "god" aswell so why is Drakedog?

His last movie was recommended, while people didn't even really like it.
His "omg emo deleting my gear to get attention" movie was even recommended.

Now please, tell me, WHY is Drakedog as he is seen today?
It's my biggest warcraftmovies question of all time really.

Drakedog got recommened because the movie moderator saw it as being good, recommened is based on the movie moderators choice. If the movie moderator likes the movie it will get recommened. (after its passed to the head movie mod)

you really can't answer why drakedog is seen as today..it's a matter of opinion alot of people like him. Alot of people don't.

WCM banner is made by the admins as for of course the rest of the site. If you have a question about the banner you can email them here

He is one of the oldest warlocks around. He was inspiration for many of those who know played warlock. He showed what warlocks was capable of. He's a legend for short.

Well honestly, he got 100k downloads in 1 day almost, I think that proves the moderators do a good job on choosing which movies would be interesting for people to watch - besides having read some of the already 124 pages of comments, it's obvious that there are a ton of people who really like his movie(s), while there are also a bunch of people that really hate drakedog like yourself, thus downrating, perhaps even downrating extra much because it's drakedog, rather than just rating the movie - but that goes both ways ofc.

Drakedog is a legend pretty much as how godliest put it. Same deal with Laintime and Mute(for world of roguecraft).

Please don't put in any bs of him starting nothing new to the warlock class. So what? You may as well put that logic in with the 500 pvp rogue/warrior movies released every week. There's nothing really new to discover in class pvp movies. PERIOD. Why? Because it's a pvp movie, you want something new? Go watch an exploration video.

People hate DD due to whatever their reasons maybe, mostly due to straight jealously.

dude, for your information, DD is basically the first significant pvp lock ever. Plus, you could see a distinct style in his pvp now as his earliest machinima (i first saw the seduce+soulfire used consistently by him). Aside from pvp, the latest vid's editing was great. Hater.

Waverian 07-03-2007 04:22 PM

High video quality and editing, and despite the ultimate content of DD7, he still has the greatest micro-management and target control that has been shown in any video on WCM.

edit: as for him adding nothing new to the warlock class.. Not only did he make Destro spec what it is today, he's come one step closer to revitalizing the spec in BC. You're aware there's currently like .. 2-3 worthwhile destruction spec warlock videos on WCM currently- including drakedog. As opposed to countless Affl/Demo. That's adding alot if you ask me.

DD wasn't only "the" warlock when wow was released, but I always enjoyed his movies, although I've never played a warlock myself .. except of 10 minutes on PTR^^

it's basically like otherguy.. difference to him is: sorrow hill 9 is exactly the same as #1 - no editing, same music, etc. .. drakedog cares about the presentation of his movies and doesnt only rely on his name (dd6 would have been just porn if pathologist couldve done it)

wtf, sorrow hill 9 is out? GIMME THE LINK OR I'LL TRACK U DOWN AND KORPSE KAMP YOU!!!

Question is if people are rating his name or the movie. I honestly doubt that very same movie would get as much downloads/high ratings/recommendations if they took the exact same movie but changed all the names from Drakedog to... Mystickiller or whatever (speaking of the last one). He's good ye, but I just think it's abit overrated.
