ASF Files are not supported

Hi,
I'm trying to cut my first test movie. I recorded 15-18 minuets in Halls of Reflection using Fraps @ 50 fps Full screen. I then rendered it with Sony Vegas 9.0, using wow model viewer @ the start and using audio tracks. I saved the files as a wmv. Once the files was saved it was about 994 mb. I then opened Virtualdub to compress it even more, but I'm having the error of:

ASF Files are not supported

Any help would be great, cheers

I think .AVI should help you out here. Does someone have some more insight in VirtualDub than me around here? Never used it really, but I'm quite sure .AVI is accepted.

You should render some sort of uncompressed .AVI and then encode it in VirtualDub.
