Top rated... what?

Someone has probably mentioned this before, but... well, in case no one noticed, here goes:

Top Rated, both This Week and This Month have, for a while now, shown movies far older than that. I'm assuming it does this because those movies have been rated This Week or This Month. By ... well, a viewer.

In short, I'm guessing someone mistakingly decided to fill the Top Rated block by looking at the last date something was rated. Not the date the movie was posted. Which, I would think, is the actual intended behaviour.

The top rated lists are made of all movies ever to be released on WcM.
If a movie breaks a certain downloads/streamed/rated limit, it will appear on the list, no matter when it was released.
Elder movies often reappear there, cause they ding platinum (or two or three or even more), so they appear on this list. That results in even more clicks, and high ratings.
And a movie, that is allready in the top rated list, can stay there for a loong time.
Tales of the past three, for example.
I think, thats how it works, so we are mostlikely not facing a mistake here.
To the admins : please correct me if I'm wrong.

Greetings

5 rates needed to be in the "top rated this month" list and 10 for the "top rated this week"

This is really screwing new movies, though. In order to get views you need to stay on the front page. I've released a movie that is the #3 rated DK PvP of "all time" and currently the second best rated PvP released this week but my movie is not making the "this week" list because it is competing against movies that are two years old?

Come on, man.

My movie, which quite frankly is pretty good, won't make 3K views because of this.

It also needs a 5.0 rating since it is competing against the best movies of all time. Heh. All you need is one downrating to totally screw your chance of getting on that list. This needs to be fixed.

RaggokMDV: I agree with what you are saying. Having 10-15 old movies all with 5.00 defeats the purpose of the lists a bit. At least one of the lists should only take into account fresh movies. I will bring this up internally and we will see what can be done.

Again, I want to apologize if I came across a bit too strong on this issue.
