Security Warning about WCM??

Ok I don't know what this is all about but I got on my computer this morning and came to WCM and my security system on my computer activated. Instead of bringing up the WCM home page, I got a warning about this website being reported and investigated about stealing personal information from logged on users and virus activations that can be harmful to users' computer. Anyone else getting something like this if you have Antivirus protection? WCM tell me what this is about because if you are implanting viruses then that will need to be discussed and dealt with responsibly.

metoo

Same message for me. Just means there was a link SOMEWHERE (could have been forums, movie link, etc.) that directed people to a computer threatening website. WCM itself is still secure as far as I know.

Grimzz 10-14-2008 05:36 PM

Might also be something in the adds... i recall it happening before :)

Hulkhack 10-14-2008 07:57 PM

Got the same message.

As I said on the wow forums, you should just remove www from the warcraftmovies.com address, it won't give error messages then and you can browse without getting annoyed... But yes there is probably either something in the adds or Google is just talking crap, either way with a premium membership I feel I don't have to worry about them adds ^^ But otherwise NoScript and Firefox should do.

I'm getting this too

Hulkhack 10-14-2008 11:33 PM

Any word from the Admins?

Valamir 10-16-2008 01:47 AM

Oddly enough, I don't get any of these notices and I have worked for this website for over three years. I also use one of the best security systems known to man, NOD32 (the complete suite), although nothing is perfect. If you all could, please wait for an Admin. They handle these types of things best. Most of the time the people to blame are Google themselves, we use automatic Ads provided by Google and Google sometimes blames the website for it when it actually is Google issuing those Ads. No worries though an Admin will come along and give a more definitive answer.

Here's a bit of information for you then. Something did come from this website that affected me. October 15th, 2 days ago, my account was hacked. Someone got the password and account name, logged into the wow website and changed my password, then proceeded to sell everything of value and send it to another account. The person knew what they were doing as they left all of my characters with pvp gear and anything that could not sell, such as badge gear. The reason I know this happened is because nobody in this world would know my password except for the admins at Warcraftmovies.com because I stupidly made my login name and password the same as one of my wow accounts. So either your admins did this, or I somehow downloaded/went to a bad part of Warcraftmovies.com that led to the hacking of my account. I think you should seriously look into this.

Uzbeki informed me about the standing of our website with Google. He had them scan the website once again and they found nothing. Google's systems are giving false positives. What you download and where you visit are things you need to be aware of. I can't speak for what has happened to you but Google has admitted their mistake and know that it is a false positive.
