Frapsed videos are slowed down even with no sync checked
I run my game at 1680x1050 usually, but I've even tried turning the res down and I get the same results.
Whenever I fraps, my game is very obviously not as fast as it was, the screen visibly slows down. And when I look at the recorded video, it's very slowed as if I had no sync unchcecked. Any ideas? I have a Pentium D 2.66ghz overclocked to a 3.6ghz with 2 gb of Corsair XMS ram and an ATI X1900 XTX 512mb. Thanks. |
Try recording at half-size located in the movie tab of fraps.

Yea it seems to work fine, but the video won't look as good that way, right?

It will look fine as long as you dont try to render it at a bigger size than it was recorded in. Or thats my reasoning with it.

One mistake I made at one point was a setting I had in WoW. If you go into your video settings while in game, check your 'multisampling' rate. I was having horrible framerate while frapsing with it set to '24 bit color, 24 bit depth, x1 multisampling'... I changed it to X2, and started working like a charm while frapsing... may want to give that a shot.
