As far as I know the WCM advert is only for free premium for X weeks/days or whatever, I think it would be a pretty horrible situation if they wouldnt put up videos at all that don't have it.

Well if your friend has a different aspect ratio it's practically impossible to get away with a "perfect" solution, if the aspect ratios are different you WILL get some black bars either on the sides...
