I assume people either have, or are aware, of other sources, or they expect that things will go the same way it did last time... Popular site goes down / reject movie types, another steps in to take over.
I guess Streams will decline in popularity as you can never match the core file quality of a download, and as far as WCM is concerned, it has a super sexy stream anyways.
