Try simply clicking on the screen to see if you get a response. I know what video player you are talking about, and I have experienced similar problems. It is usually because your computer is busy working on other things, but if it continues, then don't ask me! xD When I had that problem I had to click the screen for it to start. Even making it play, it seemed to buffer fine. Goodluck!
