Need an idea to create a flashback effect

Thanks to this wonderful forum and a lot of frustrating nights with Vegas I've progressed quite a bit

So of course I come to you guys again with another question. I have an idea for my intro, but am truly at a loss on how to achieve my desired effect.

Basically what I'm aiming for is a good transition to create a "flashback" effect. For simplicity sake just imagine the clip starts with me standing outside Ironforge, then periodically it cuts to a different clip of footage (the flashback or whatever) and then back to the original footage. Just looking for a nifty way to transition between the two.

Any ideas?
