Looking much better now, no Sony Vegas crashes when skipping audio, and I have used Virtualdub to combine audio and video. One thing remains though, and this may sound a bit silly, but I suspect that I have much fewer audio codec options than I should have. For example it doesn't seem like I can encode MP3 audio. Where would I download the codecs I need to encode audio properly?
