Newbie need help with Premiere

Hello, I'm totally new to this and I need a little help.
I've used Fraps to record some boss kills at 1680*1050 at ~30fps. I've read some guides and they say that I shouldn't resize if I want good quality and that I should use Xvid as my encoding codec.

I searched a little more and found out that Premiere was the most advanced editing program, so I got that.

Now my problem is the encoding, I cannot seem to find the option inside "Export -> Adobe Media Encoder" to select Xvid, however when I select "Export -> Movie" I can select Xvid but don't get all the fancy features of the Adobe Media Encoder option. Now these aren't the only problems I have, when I select the export->movie my Xvid encoder stops responding. If I choose the Adobe Media Encoder and select WMA as my format it takes up to 20 hours to encode my video - that just can't be right.

I'm running Vista. Are there any known problems with Xvid and Vista, and is it normal for high resolution videos to take that long to get encoded?

Other tips are also welcome

Xvid is pretty fast, my comp can reach over 20 fps encoding speed when doing 1280x1024 so nawh.

You should try installing huffyuv ( http://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley...fyuv-2.1.1.zip ), compressing with that in premiere (youll get a pretty big file)

Use:

<-- Convert to YUY2
and Predict Median (best) in the yuy2 box.

Then recomp with xvid/mp3 in virtualdub.

Xvid MPEG-4 Codec - Configuration - Other Options -clear the tick of "Display encoding status",
and your Premiere will be OK to export an AVI format video with Xvid.
I think it is a bug of Pr.

Ahh that one.. it just shows an empty box in vegas, doesn't crash but doesn't exactly work either.
