Fraps Issues.

Now, i know this is a very common question etc.. i run wow at 1280 * 1024, with all settings on max, i have vsync @ 60 fps, and my computer runns wow @ 60 fps everywhere.. now, when i start fraps up, and start recording my fps dropps to something like 10 - 15 fps?

tried full / half screen, lot of different fps settings from 30 - 60

i got a e 6850 3ghz, 2gig ram, got 150 gig free disk space, 100 on one disk and 50 on the other..

and i really dont know what the problem is, the quality i get from the raw is pretty nice, its just that i lag like shit

any ideas?

* Clueless *

Suppose it could be your HDD not being fast enough then.

What sort is it? IDE/SATA?

Could be that.

Try recording at a lower res like 1024x768/1152x864 (is your cpu a quad or dual core btw?) and see if the avg fps goes up.

Uhm yes

after some testing, i have still not reached any satisfying answer.. but i noticed that my performance gets flawless after like 15 - 30 sec of recording, after that time i get steady fps and no lag ;S

Edit: I thought of something, im running wow from the same disk.. do you think that could cause problems? like the disk cant write enough or something like that? :Z

Then try cleaning up/defragging your hd.

edit: Wow & fraps on the same disk is fine too.
