New Fraps problem
I say new, because its new to me... I've used fraps before, and recorded nicely at 25fps for a pvp movie before, and at a little lower for 2 before that.
Since then, I've gotten a much better computer... 2k ram, 3,2ghz dual, better graphics card... If I'm standing in Orgrimmar, I have around 60fps... if I'm in AB in the open, I have around 45fps. Then I start recording... BAM, 20fps. 25 if I'm lucky. Now I'm used to it dropping, of course, but dropping with 25fps? Thats a lot. Even more, when I enter pvp... that will be, when I'm in close combat and uses spells (this dosn't happen if i just spam spells in org, or i just get in combat, but not fight), bam... 9fps? all the way down to 3 fps... That last bit there, is the true killer. I can deal with pvp'ing at 20/25fps (though it does start to feel a bit iffy)... its not great, but I can deal with it. PvP'ing at 5fps? Not to mention how it would look on the video? Anyone had any issues with this? Running XP btw, not a Vista problem. |

Heh I responded to your post on the wow forums..
copy paste: fraps locks the fps to at most what you're recording at (so recording at 30 = 30 fps ingame). It shouldn't have a problem with that computer, but, which gfx card is it? |

Nvidia GeForce 7600 i think...
But as I said... if i'm out of combat, I'm recording at 25fps... when I'm not recording at all, 60fps... I've recorded huge mass events on this computer, without huge problems... the only thing that changed recently, was that I got a new screen, which I'm running at a higher resolution... but since I can play just fine, at such high FPS, i doubt thats it, along with the out of combat/in combat issue. |

Hm, if it's a 24 incher the res could be too big for your computer to handle. What resolution are you running at?

1600*1200
But remember that I can still turn on fraps and record in major cities without any problems. Its only the second I enter combat :S Which seems weird... |

Try turning off your addons then. Could be you have something running (dmg meters are pretty heavy) that eats too much cpu.
