Moving clips between Vegas projects
Hey people!
I'm having a bit of trouble atm: basically I've been editing my movie in (so far) 3 different vegas projects (simply cus they slow down the more stuff is added to the project) and I intend to put it all together in one project in the end. However, when I open two separate projects in vegas in order to copy a group of clips and sounds from one project to the other, the envelopes don't follow. (The envelopes are like the stuff that makes your camera zoom, shake, pan etc in vegas) - do anyone know an efficient way of copying these from project to project, while avoiding the need for manually copying the keyframes and adjusting them? Thanks - Martin |

Copy the project file and rename it and open it up again?
I don't know what you're trying to do. Are you trying to just get certain parts of a project or all of it?

Only part of it - I sort of use a project to put together my stuff, so a project might consist of 10 x 3-5 min clips in no real order or anything. Thing is I need to put all these together correctly in a new project file, meaning that I'll be importing parts of each project at a time in order to have decent control over it. I can ofc manually copy keyframes etc, but it's a loong process and I risk getting some lack of precission, which will be rather troublesome.
So basically I want to group a bunch of clips and sounds so I can move it around (which is easily done within one project), but also to be able to move it to another project, without loosing the keyframes/envelopes I use Vegas 6.0 btw - Martin |

You just need to open two copies of Vegas. One with Project A open and other with Project B. Then just copy & paste between them.

No idea sorry.
Not sure why you'd want to move em between though, cant you just keep the "real" movie to the left and the clips you want to move around like 1 hr down the timeline? |

we're going to go in depth on the podcast tonight about it, but one of the ways you can do what you are talking about is to "nest" the veg clips. It can get painful with a lot, but just drop the veg you want to move over onto the timeline. It'll render a proxy out that you can then work with the new stuff.
