BLACK SCREEN - when i insert a rendered video in Vegas to Edit - Only certain parts

hey guys so im making a pvp Movie for wow - now i took all my footage and rendered it using Sony vegas (to save file space)- i watched the .avi in media player - works perfect - now when i reinsert it into Sony vegas - to add effect and such - i watch the Preview Video and in certain spots the whole screen turns Black. but when i watch it outside Sony Vegas - these Black screens randomly throughout the movie do not exist - Help

PS - i noticed the preview is very jerky also - like it freezes up for a few seconds then jerks forward then slows again - what is up

Dont get too hung up over the preview, if it looks good when you export it from vegas theres no reason to worry really. Yeah the preview is buggy.

no the preview is meaningless - its the fact that when i put my .avi into SOny vegas i get a black screen for about 5 seconds or so in certain parts of it - and i tried rendering a small part of it -and yeah the black screen is there in the rendered version - but the .avi i put in to start off has no black spots in it if i watch in media player - its only when i port it to Sony vegas that i get problems

So i downloaded a random movie .avi and put it in Sony vegas - Sony vegas puts a random black screen into the movie a ways in - for a few seconds then it stops - and the movie continues - so what is the issue here?
