How to make a machinima? (the alternative ways)
When I searched on internet about making a machinima, I see there is only one program that enables us to use models. That is WoW Model Viewer.
WoW Map Viewer also seems useful. But, both of these programs reminded me searching for Half-Life mods that seems promising but never completed (especially while 2000-2001). There were many HL mods but most of them was not released, therefore created a mod garbage in internet. I feel similar while searching information about WoW Model Viewer. It seems updated "unofficially" to 6.0.3. But WoW Map Viewer is told as not being compatible with the newest WoW Patch. Therefore I wonder what is the best program to make a WoW machinima? I don't think doing moves ingame and recording them with Fraps is effective. It requires lots of players to participate, encounter many stupid disturbances, rerun same scene over and over, and also not being able to use different effects. What are the alternative ways for capturing models, maps and effects? I've read "the models were exported and imported into a 3D application. The WoW model viewer has an option to export models and 3D Studio Max is the 3D app I used" in that BLIND movie. BLIND movie is an interesting movie that shows players can do movie-like scenes with WoW graphics. But somethings bug me and I can not understand them. He says the models taken with wow model viewer and then put into 3D Studio Max. So, what about the maps? The movie has 3D rotating scenes. How we can do this? WoW Map Viewer seems not working with the latest patch. TL;DR: What can you say for the alternative ways to make machinima? How can we compare them? Is there a new and useful method to make WoW machinimas? |
