Well, I had excellent video quality and was unable to get the playback to give smooth results.

I took videos using Fraps and Camtasia. Below are the links to them.

Fraps Video
Camtasia Video

I prefer the Fraps footage because it looks great and is very smooth at the same time. Camtasia does an excellent job at getting the video quality but to be honest that program is best used for compressing and video editing only. For those of you that want something like Vegas and that is 20x easier to use, grab Camtasia 4.

thx for your efforts, but my problem (why i used camtasia instead of fraps) is, that fraps doenst want to record anything without lowering my ingame fps to 1-2fps ..:>

i have normally 50-106 fps depending on the area, but fraps sends them down to 1-2fps when i try to record anything.

thats why i hoped camtasia recorder would help

SOLVED IT !

shame on me

i didnt save the fraps files on a local hard disk drive but on an extern one => the process to send the data via USB to the extern hard disk was the problem.

i changed the directory to a folder on the main hard disc and voila.. it worked with such a fine quality and smoothness <3

thx a lot for your effort, its solved now xD

MfG

What is your exact setup for video recording and such? I would like to know so I can try this program again because I did notice that it was certainly not reducing my FPS. I'm recording to my local hard drive but as you can see with my camtasia footage it is quite jerky.

my exact setup was listed before, i didnt change anything

now im recording with fraps @ 1280*1024, all details set to max and 30fps ingame:> the problem why fraps didnt work before was the thing with the hard drive :>
