Can VirtualDub "stitch together" audio and video?

Hey guys. Need your help on a little issue.

Ive just rendered our first Illidan kill to a divx comressed .avi file. I rendered the soundtrack for it separately (due to tons and tons of Vegas crashing, so I rendered it in small bits). And i would like to add the sound to my Avi file. I thought Virtualdubmod could do this, but either it cant, or im just using it wrong.

Heres what I did: Loaded my .Avi into VD, added my .mp3 file under the stream list. Hit "save as" and set it to direct stream copy. But I just get an .avi file (bigger than the original), but with no sound still. Any help?

Vdubmod can do it.. like you described. No idea why it wouldn't work, but hey, glad you sorted it out.
