When i try to go and do exactly what the Xvid coding guide says to do by Thiras i can't find the mp3 in sony vegas. I'm currently using Sony Vegas 6 anything i need to get mp3 in the dropdown list?

Yea, you need the LAME MP3 codec. It can be downloaded from www.free-codecs.com (make sure you get the correct version which lets you install it as a codec)
