Problems with recording programs

Hello, I don't know if this IS the correct place to put this, but I figured it was.

I've recently, well actually, for quite a long time been trying to fix the FPS problem I have when I start to record things (mainly WoW) with Fraps. When I play, I get between 25-45 FPS normally, but when I start to record, my FPS goes down to shit. Meaning 10 or below. I thought it was just Fraps, so I searched for another recorder. I found gamecam. A very nice program but I still have the same problem. I feel as if the low FPS really affects my turn out in PvP, and It really annoys me that I cannot play to my full extent while recording. Is it something in my options, or do I really just need a way better video card?

See, the thing is, I read the fraps guide in this section, but the problem I see occuring is extremely low FPS. Before I got my video card, my FPS usually went to 5-10 when fraps was on, and when I got my video card which improved my FPS 2 times over, It still goes to those numbers. I did half size, which seems to have made a slight difference, but I don't know if it is good enough.

well, is ur options set so you record 20 FPS? You can adjust this under the Movies tab.

Yeah, I changed it to 20 fps, and half screen. It seems that the video looks ok, but in game my FPS is rather bad in battle, which can cause me to do worse. Also, The half screen makes it very small. Will an editor like Sony vegas make this easier to see, like enlarging it a little bit without completely slaughtering the quality? Hrm...

Fraps is picky when it comes to recording with a computer you have to have a pretty good computer to record smoothly so that might be the problem..

I would suggest upgrading your computer if you want it to work.
