Paying up to $500 for someone to make a really nice video that will advertise our company on youtube/myspace etc..

Well really, for something like this, you'll have to provide info on what actually needs to be done:

A: Deadline, exact.
B: Length
C: Quality
D: Since this is posted on a Machinima forum, are we talking game stuff, real actors stuff, or motion graphics stuff?
E: What is the purpose of the video? We know its advertisment, but that dosn't tell us much.
F: What company is this for, and what would we be advertising?

These are all quite important things to know, before signing on to do anything!
