Well I have a dual core 4600+ 2.4? gig processor and 2 gigs of OCZ 800 MHz Reaper Ram. So as far as I know I shouldn't be having any problems.
Would playing in windowed mode and recording in that help reduce lag? Also in WoW itself what resolutions should I be running it at? |

The only thing I could say is maybe your resolution is to high. maximum resolution for "fullscreen" fraps is 1152x864 go any higher and you might experience lag.
1280x800 for widescreen comps. Windows mode wouldn't help at all with lag.

Hmm I'll try it out and see how it works.
If you make movies what are your Fraps settings? |

I personally use 50 fps on "fullsize" I sacrifice quality for smoothness since my computer isn't the best, but that is settings for BF2. For WoW I use 30.
Here is an example of 50fps if your curious, here is a test clip I made for bf2 of 50fps settings http://files.filefront.com/BF2+vidfu.../fileinfo.html you can just use the stream if you want I wouldn't bother downloaded it. It's not that bad but the lowest fps your computer can handle the better.

Hmm I'll try changing some in game settings and see if I get better results.

playing on 1680x1050 and recorded fullsize <- is this really a problem? because I don't want to record half-size, my videos shouldn't be only 840x525 . Any other possibilities to avoid this? |

Well the higher the resolution the more footage fraps has to record = the more laggier it is. If your computer can handle it 1680x1050 at 30fps would be good but if it's laggy I would record at 800x600 or somthing smaller. It would help your fps out.
so yeah try lowering your resolution that should help out a ton
