Very slow render speeds with Vista.

I just recently upgraded to vista and vegas 7 and for some reason my render speeds are very slow. Im talking 10 hours to do a 12 minute vid with WMV. Any help? Ive got 2 gigs of ram, pentium D duel core 2.8ghz, 7950gt 512mb

It also wont play a smooth video preview. Even if there are no effects going, just video and sound anything other than "Preview - Auto" will be very choppy and not really watchable. With XP I could watch Preview - Full with no frame rate problems at all. Any help would be great, thanks.

Try rendering this, and if it lags with this clip anyway (its 1024x768 btw), write an angry email to sony :>

...and then go get yourself magix video deluxe - cheap and very usefull. I had the chance to try out sonyvegas, but will stick with my magix.
