lowering the filesize (Fraps)
Hi guys
Currenty Fraps(full version) runs pretty good on my computer, only a few lags while recording (AMD 2.2quad, 3gigs ram, 2x 512videocards, vista ultimate) But the filesize i get is HORRIBLE... I know i can edit it after with some programms, but come on: 1min 26secs recorded and i get a 4,2gig file! (at 30fps, full size) Isn't there a way to lower this somehow, without activating the half size mode? i already set my resolution from 1680x1050 to 1290x800, but it doesn't help Thanks for the Answers |

No, in order to retain the full quality fraps only applies a lossless compression to the files (like zipping, in a sense)

Fraps always spits out tons of gigs - there is no way but to compress these later on (VirtualDub, e.g.). But if it's not something really special you want to come up with (don't get me wrong here ) you should give it a try with fraps halfsized. Works fine for most of the vids around here, imho. Just imho. You may rip me apart, now.
