Fraps half size question

I just downloaded fraps today and I know nothing about movie making.. but does half size ruin the quality of the movie?

I've had some experience with Fraps, as I have recorded several videos (and have recently started to post them here).

Half size does not significantly degrade video quality in my experience; in fact, half size is what I use to record my own videos (link in sig). I do have to compress them further in order to get them on this site, but overall the quality is still very good.
