Release Date of Burning Crusade

PARIS, France -- Blizzard Entertainment® today announced that the release date for World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade™, the highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft, will be in January 2007. By adding a few extra weeks to the development cycle beyond its original target date, Blizzard will be able to extend the closed beta test and further refine the new content that will ship with the game.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we’re excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve.”

Blizzard began the closed-beta phase of testing on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade earlier this month. The January 2007 release window will allow extra time for current beta testers to participate in the final stages of development and continue providing valuable feedback.

Further information on specific worldwide release dates, pricing, and other details will be announced in the near future.

Sad to see it slip away a few weeks, but at the same time it feels good to know that a release date has been offially set, and a few more weeks under development means less bugs. So yay!

I don't know about that because I have a copy reserved to be released next month. Now that may be the case for Europe though.

My preorder date was a month ago... and obviously that wasnt the correct release date, so dont be supprised if ur release date isnt right either Valamir. hehe

Im' so glad the realease date is longer for one my guild can finish bwl before expansion comes out and for two... it has a chance for them to add even more content.

I would also like to inform you that it also says that information on the Blizzard homepage as well as the WoW homepage, both on their north american standarn servers. So it will likely be being released alongside the European verson, seeing as how they dont really need to translate anything. Its not like there taking all the text and converting it to chinese characters. lol

Talk about an oxymoron, haha. Anyway, I am currently in the works of writing an epic story based on the warcraft universe. Check it out some time: The Third Circle [chapter 4 up now] [Please R&R]
