Weird problem with fraps

I have 1.5 GB of ram

3400 + amd processeor

1024 Res ingame

running fraps at Full screen 30 fps or full screen 60 fps FPS lags me to death

I try half screen i dont get to much leg but the quality is horrible... any reason y ? my comp should be ble to handle full no ?

It takes a really really good Computer to run fraps without lag..

My suggestion is to either run it on Half screen and deal with no lag and horrible quality. or try to up the FPS even more..

Or you could get a new comp...

i know what your going threw though my comp is the same way..

Your harddisk probably isn't fast enough to take 1024x768 @ 30 fps. Try lowering resolution to 800x600 or increase it to 1280x1024 and record at half size.

Try also setting all antialias, anisotropic filtering (from the display card settings) etc off. Helps a lot.

I don't think many people realize this but it is also effected by your harddrive significantly. If you can possibly capture to a drive that isn't storing virtual memory already (WoW probably eats into virtual memory eventually even with 1.5gb whether it should or not)...and also not the drive where WoW is installed on (as it will already be caching from that drive to ram). It's just an idea, if someone wishes to refute it go ahead, but I seem to yield better results this way...
