Vegas gets stuck during encoding

Hi all

I have a problem with the encoding of my movie. I'm using Vegas 6.0 and I use the wmv codec. The problem is that Vegas gets stuck about halfway while encoding.

My audio settings are: CBR, 128 kbs, 44 khz

Video: Bit rate VBR. The format is windows media video 9, the frame rate is 30 and the average bitrate is set to 2M.

My movie is 32 minutes long and 800x600. I have a 320 GB harddisk thats split in 3 parts. I'm trying to save the movie on the largest part (175 GB). I also have all the raw footage saved on that part, but there is still 109 GB left. Could this be the problem that Vegas gets stuck while encoding?

Watching Vegas render WMV is usually a pretty nasty thing to have to watch.

They don't seem to like each other very much. What you could do is take the half rendered file, select the second region of the film and render that out.

Then, import both sections into Vegas and try cut them together and render. It's helped me out in the past.

Failing that, ditch WMV for another codec.

Yes what Btcc22 said, Ditch the WMV codec and go DIVX instead. It is much better quality and most people have it now days.
It is also easy to use.
