Screen/Monitor Resolution
I believe this is probably rhetorical, but here goes:
I play with 1280x1024 settings. I use the 2.9.2 version of Fraps. I record at 60 frames. My videos look fine and kick out as 640x512 version and look perfect. Why FRAPs downsizes resolution I do not know. I want to set up a size closer to the Kael'Thalas/Vashj tactical movies. His are being done at 840x524 or a native screen resolution of 1680x1048. In order to reach a size like this or lets say I want a 1280x1024 mode, which correlates into fraps capture at 2560x2050 I'd have to purchase a new monitor that supports a higher resolution? Gotta have that quality. -Xdulla |

Arg...Fraps website.
Choosing Half-size will store the movie at half the resolution of the game screen. Full-size will store the movie at the same resolution as the game screen up to 1152x864. It appears I answered my own question. -Xdulla |

Aye
Full size goes up to 2560*something i think with a dualcore, 1152x864 for singlecores. |

Indeed.
The only issue with that is without playing in 1280x1024 the game just doesn't look right because UIs and model scale are built graphically for that type of resolution depiction so you can't knock yourself down to the lower resolutions for full size quality without loosing actual playability with the UI. So it's a dual core with a high-end 2500+ resolution screen to get the half-size file that is comparable to the full size your looking for. -X |
