Fraps worth purchasing?
I hate making titles... If anyone actually got this far i'm a bit new to moviemaking, i've made some videos in the past from xbox and edited it with WMM. Recently I purchased Sony Vegas 8 (Platinum) because i'm serious like that. I have been trying some different video recorders for awhile now, and I have ruled out gamecam for sure.
Fraps looks really good, with the settings I run at (decreased resolution for fraps) it runs in game at ~30 to normal of ~70 FPS and the video looks great. Xfire is pretty good, I like the quality and FPS of the final video but it runs in game at like 15-20 FPS which makes a biiiiig difference while playing. The only difference is Xfire is free, and the full version of fraps is $40. I mean I guess its a personal decision but any help or pointers from someone who has tried both. Two more things: I realise that for dropping $120 on sony vegas i'm gonna want fraps to maximize all quality, but also remember that after that i'm gonna have to pull $40 out of my ass. =P Also I want to mention in case it matters that I have an amazing comp... Quad core processor with 3 gigs of ram so that won't be a problem. Yay for 6 AM posting... please forgive my tiredness xD - Apoc |

From personal experiance fraps was the one of the best pieces of software i've ever purched. From experiance i've found it to be the most efficent recording program short on getting a camcorder.
Oh and free lifetime upgrades <3 Personally i would pay again |
