Getting lag while recording with fraps

I like to record my duels with fraps in case I'm gonna make a movie someday, but the thing is that I get so much lag when recording making it nearly impossible to win a fight. Do you know what may cause this problem?

My computer looks like this:

cpu amd 2500+ (1.8ghz)
ram: 1024 MB RAM
hard drive: 2 x 160 GB
graphic card: radeon 9600 pro
motherboard: ABIT NF7-S

Well, a lot depends of what server you play on. So, what server?

Lag as in low fps, or high latency to the server?

Just by seeing what types of computer specs you have I can tell you now that your computer is running on the low side of things. Upgrading your CPU for $60 would be a huge improvement.

More RAM would probably be good for you as well.
