Voice/Sound/Audio Issues

Fraps isn't capturing decent sound, and I'd like to record what my friends/family say in Ventrilo, for interviews.

Any recommended programs? (Preferably free? I spent forever waiting for Sony Vegas to come in, I'd rather not wait on audio software.)

Fraps records my sound just fine.

you say it's not capturing decent sound

is it not capturing any sound at all? or is it capturing it, but it plays back crummy? few more details, you might have a sound driver issue
