Premium Mirror Speed

It took me a long time until I finally had to write this post. I used to purchase premium every once in a while to have faster downloads and sometimes to download old videos pretty easy without having trouble to find mirrors.

Usually the download speed was limited by my internet connection wich is how it should be ! But in the last year that has changes pretty hard. Most premium mirrors, especially in europe, have become very very slow.

Sometimes i have 400kb/s or less. That whould be okay if I wouldn't pay for it. Sometimes the US server is faster then the Europe servers, how can this be ? And, by the way, even the US server does not give me the full speed. An I have a 6MBit/s internet connection, it should not be this hard to get a server which is able to give me 6MBit/s when I fucking pay for it !

So is there a reason why your servers are constantly slow ? Even in the middle of the night ...
Please change it, I have no problems to pay for the service, as long as it's good enough, otherwise, I won't pay anymore !

We can take all reports of slow service very seriously. I will send you a PM with my contact details and we can do some real time testing to see if we can improve the situation for you.

8 MBit is 1024 kB, and on an 8 MBit line you won't get much higher than 700 or 800 kB/s, 500 kB/s on your 6 MBit line is pretty much what you should expect to get.
You really should learn about Bits and Bytes before complaining.

I think i've learned enough about bits and bytes.
1 Byte = 8 Bit
6Mbit = 6.000.000bit
6.000.000bit/8 = 750.000byte
1kbyte = 1.024 byte
1mbyte = 1.024 kbyte
750.000byte/1024 = 732.42kbyte

But because your internet connection is not 6Mbit/s up and down, but acutally ca. 5700kbit/s down and 300kbit/s up (not exact, look it after yourself if you want it exact)
you have to calculate it like this :

5700kbit x 1000 = 5.700.000bit / 8 = 712.500byte / 1024 = 695.80kbyte
As you can see, the speed you could get is 695.8 kbyte/s
but with "protocol overhead" and things like this (and because the nubers are not exact) it's only like 670kbyte/s

And this is what i get on EVERY other webserver wich is fast enough.

BTW: A warcraftmovies admin (see above) has contacted me and we did some troubleshooting via skype. After this, i was able to get 670kb/s from the warcraftmovie premium servers, from the french as well as from the netherlands server.

So don't fuck with me and learn about bits and bytes yourself first!

A) I said nothing wrong for you to correct.
B) You've basically said the same thing I did and corrected what you originally said.

"I'm on 6mbit blahblah I should get 6mbit"
Then your reply to me states exactly why you won't get 6mbit.

Well you said, 8MBit is 1024kb.
Check it again, it's not !
And on my 6MBit line i should get far more than 500kb/s.
This is the second thing to correct.

Besides this, my problem is solved. So I write here only for fun, don't take me too serious

I don't want to start a flamewar, but you just wrote something wrong so I've explained you, why I think it is wrong.
