Fraps does sync with ingame fps and video recording fps.
I can suggest to use another tool - PlayClaw which doesn't sync frames.
I'm getting 25-30 fps videos without any decreasing of ingame fps on my intel core i5.
Here it is - http://www.playclaw.com

1. You mean there's lag in the video but no lag in game? Not sure what you mean.
2. Like x264 above said. But I'd recommend using Xfire video record. It's allows you to record 30fps while playing whatever fps you want, and it uses its own XFR1 codec that is based off the lossless YUV, iirc.

Side question: when recording at 100fps, are you sure your ingame fps is actually at 100fps or does it stutter around like 30fps?

Well, RGB->YUV is not lossless.
p.s. fraps and playclaw (in low compression mode) use RGB to YUV conversion with following lossless compression.

Ok you got me there, it's nearly lossless
But I've played around with both and the difference is almost unnoticeable.

Agree, in most cases the difference is very small.
I saw big difference only when red lines or symbols over black background.

Do you know what the main bottleneck of fraps is? This guide simply says to use a separate hdd, lower your settings, or get better hardware. But it doesn't really say which hardware to get.

I did some experimenting and I'm 99% sure the bottleneck is the cpu, then the hdd, assuming the user is already using a separate hdd.

Thanks a billion. Had some problems with FRAPS and lag. I've tried both getting a priest to drive potential evil spirits out of FRAPS and even using WeGame. Hopefully this will end now

Nice guide, helped a lot. But your punctuation sucks ^^. No commas, nothing, it's hard to tell when one thought ends and where the other starts. Please find a guide on the net about punctuation and read it thoroughly ;p

I'm sure you want to be as professional as possible, and content-wise you are, but layout-wise - not there yet

Stratego is a board game for two players

Stratego is a board game for two players on a 10x10 square board. Each player controls 40 pieces representing individual officers and soldiers in an army. The objective of the game is to find and capture the opponent's Flag, or to capture so many enemy pieces that the opponent cannot make any further moves. Players cannot see the ranks of one another's pieces, so disinformation and discovery are important facets to gameplay.
