[need advice]Really low fps when fullsize frapsing
So, when I'm frapsing at half size, I've got no problem even on 60fps. The fps doesnt fall under 60 at all, but when I change fraps to record at full size, I instantly fall to 10-12 fps.
I know that 1680 x 1050 is a little high resolution for frapsing in full size but I am seriously disappointed with the fps. I have no idea why isn't my hardware pushing more fps, and after a few hours spent by googling back and forth for fraps advices, I am no wiser than before. My setup : CPU : INTEL Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3,00GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB cache, Penryn, overclocked to 3600, with Noctua NH-u12p cooler RAM : 4GB (KIT 2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz PC6400 EPP A-DATA Gamers Edition RETAIL BOX Dualchannel GPU : ASUS ENGTX260/HTDP, 896MB DDR3 (1998MHz), NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 (576MHz), PCIe x16, SLi, 2xDVI HDD : Samsung SpinPoint F1 640GB, SATA II NCQ, 16MB cache, 7200ot., 8.9ms, HD642JJ I'm not at home atm so I cannot screen my fraps settings but I will be thankful for any advice with what I am doing wrong |

Hi, i'm almost 100% sure it's your harddrive. To fraps in that kind of resolution you need a second harddrive. I had the same problem with really good specs, I bought a second harddrive and can now fraps at 1680x1050 perfectly fine with 60fps.
External USB harddrives isn't good enough. You need one that can transfer data faster than that for that resolution.. EDIT: And DAMN, registered 2005 and this was my first post? lol |
