450mb for a 15 min video = normal?

I am saving my movies in Vegas at 840 x 542 (Widescreen), and a 15 min video is about 450mb, is there anyway to get more quality out of the video at a smaller size? I am saving as .avi(DivX) fyi.

Not normal. Should be around 375 for really good quality.

Take a screenshot of your preferences or something...

I SUMMON YOU, THIRAS!

FIxed the problem , now my new problem is that the music and the video is not lined up properly when rendered, but appears to be lined up perfectly in the Vegas projectline. It would kill me to change all the sound effects throughout 15 min of footage!!

Use xvid, settings (do 2nd pass afterwards ofc):

Also dont forget to compress the audio with mp3 (virtualdub can do that.)

Thanks Thiras, so I basically render the TwoBit - One Pass first, then render again with TwoBit - Two Pass, then combine them both with Virtual Dub and add the audio?

Or in vegas you just use the settings Thiras gave you and render it 2 times. First time do the firstpass and the second time do the second pass. Then you render your file again as an mp3 and add that to your video again using Vdubmod, not Vdub. That last mp3 thing you can find in the guide Thiras wrote http://www.warcraftmovies.com/articleview.php?id=21. Scroll down to the bottom under "THE PART ABOVE IS VERY IMPORTANT"

OR

You encode it uncrompressed or with Huffyuv in vegas and then take it in Vdub and use the settings Thiras just gave you and do that 2 times(firstpass and then secondpass).

good luck

Ok so I rendered two of them, named em xvid1 and xvid2, and I just load up the xvid2 and add that with music? What do I do with xvid1?

xvid 1 is only sound with no video when you did it right so basicly you trow it away ^^ You don't have to rename them btw you can keep the same name. I use Vdub so I render to two maps one map called 1stePass and one map called 2ePass. I do this because when you open the map where the 1ste pass is in it crashes the windows explorer and restarts it so you can't open it what so ever so I just delete the 1stePass map. When you do your firstpass and secondpass in vegas then yeah you take the secondpass in Vdubmod and replace the music with the encoded mp3 music. This is not needed but it saves a lot in size
