Previewing Video with sony vegas

im running sony vegas 10, and when i try to preview my videos they tend to look choppy, is there a way to make it go smoothly and in decent quality so i know what im working with? its really annoying that it skips frames, i just want it to run smooth, my computers specs arent the issue as ive used many other programs to edit video (none of which are doing what i want at the moment) and had wow open and running at the same time. help and tips are appreciated thanks!

Right above the preview window there should be a button that says "Preview (Auto)". Click on it and go to Preview -> Full and that should make it look better.

Preview Half works out pretty good as well
