Rendering in very high quality.

I would like to render some videos in very high quality. I fraps at 20 fps 1280x1024 and use vegas 6. I would like something like Forlorn Legacy's videos
http://files.filefront.com/Leotheras.../fileinfo.html but im not quite sure how he renders them so HQ. Any help?

Bitrate is key when rendering high quality movies. Between 3000-5000 will give you an awesome picture.

Check out the stickies on this forum if you need more info on setting up your codec. Good luck with your movie!

Yes it is all about the bitrate; the higher the bitrate, the better the quality.
But once you go over 5000kb/s it then becomes overkill and we don not want that.

You should choose a bigger fps speed, 20 looks choppy. At least 25 is OK.

The bitrate should be chosen depending on the footage you have. If there is lots of fast movement, 5000 or more is quite essential. Do some test renders and you'll find the correct amount. For best results, use a codec which supports two-pass compressing (XViD or DivX for example).

Why should I use 20 or 25 fps? My ingame FPS in my video is about 15 in SSC with fraps on, 30 with fraps off. I don't see how 20 or 25 would help.

I believe he suggested you record at 25-30fps under the assumption that you're playing at a higher frame rate. I agree with him tho, 20fps and high quality don't seem to belong in the same sentence. Try adjusting some of your video settings so your in-game fps is somewhere near or above 30fps.

30 fps in combat in SSC is very hard to achieve. especially in the leotheras room and thats with fraps off. With fraps on it goes to hell =/
