What is the best class to play in World of Warcraft?

Opinionated question here. Every class has their Pros and Cons. For me personally I think Shamans are the best class to play in WoW.

Why you may ask? Well lets start with versatility, they are like a light switch in some cases. One shaman can be DPSing then toss out a heal the very next GCD. Less so for Enhancement but is possible.

They also provide multiple buffs, auras, and totems. Which now most classes do. They had a long streak of being a class that are needed in raids. With Cataclysm coming and Blizzard's "Bring the Player, not the Class" theory shamans won't be as important than before. Does this mean they are still not, in my opinion, the funniest / best class to play? Absolutely!

Versatility is by far the most pro with Shamans!
