I need some help

well basically I really would like to start making all the movies i've made a couple pvp ones like I have a twink priest video on youtube which im happy with 28k views, though I used windows movie maker for it. I now have vegas 7.0 and adobe premiere. Now i use fraps to film my stuff, and well I made a pvp video of my hunter and when I made it into a AMV file well lets just say it took up 1 gig of my comp. If anyone can give me some tips on how to minimize the amount of room a file takes while also providing good quality please please post here. Thank you
