WAR Community team is looking for your Machinima!
Greetings!
The WAR community team is looking for cutting edge and innovative machinima to feature in our monthly newsletter. We welcome RvR videos, original content, or basically anything that inspires you to play Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. In order to be featured the machinima must adhere to the following guidelines: - All content must comply to a "Teen" rating. - No copyrighted music may be used in the soundtrack. - Videos should be of a high quality and easily viewable. At this time we are not providing hosting for your videos. Please be sure to upload your movie at WarhammerMovies.net and then post the link to them here in this thread. Post links to your videos here in this thread and should your video be considered you will be contacted for further details. Thanks!

Hi Andy,
its very nice to hear this news - I hope, Mythic will do much more to support the moviemakers in the future As one of the makers of the first fanvideo of the month (Newsletter #34 - An Emperor's Order) I have to say something about the camerasystem... Sorry, but it is a pain. I really hope, Mythic will tweak the cam-system a bit. The reasons: 1.) If you try to make a portrait shot of someone, you have to suffer from big problems. Its only possible when you go to first-person-look (and you get the fish-eye-effect). As a Human or Elf you alway look from above to the opponent. You can't see the face, only the hair from high above.... As an Dwarf, you are looking from - öhm, unten, was heisst unten? - down on the ground... If you try to make such shots from your own character, you fail too. The hookpoint of the cam is the upper top of the charakters head... you can't zoom in enough to make a nice portrait shot... My wish is, that Mythic will implement a possibility to pan the cam in the Z-Axis - like DAoC. (it was in at the early beta - why is it gone?) 2.) Many moviemakers tent to act as their own actors. Me too. Makes things much easier. But the charakter is always in the middle of the screen. My wish is, that Mythic will implement a way to fix/hold the cam at a fix point - so it would be possible to walk through the screen, while the cam is fixed. (like in DAoC hitting the F11 key) I hope it was understandable - English is not my native language Illunaghor |

I'll forward these ideas along to the UI team. I'm sure that long term, this is something we could look at.

Hello Andy,
First of all, nice to read that Mythic may have a certain interest in Machinimas made with their game. I am particularly interested in what Warhammer Online can offer for us machinima-makers, and am actually producing 2 new videos in this game... ...however I must admit that some features are REALLY missing in WAR. Last month I won two prizes with my first video in AOC (Best french machinima and best MMO french machinima 2008 for Rodion - "Je démonte"), and creating this video has been cool, because of the NUMEROUS emotes of the game accordingly to the lyrics of my song. WAR NEEDS EMOTES ! We need to be able to make our chars move his or her mouth (even to say nothing), sit, dance, clap, rude, brag, breakdance and more, more, MORE other little things. If you really want to see what I mean with EMOTES, look at "quatuor", my last achievement before I come into WAR : http://qbstudio.blogspot.com EMOTES is my principal concern with WAR atm, and I hope someone will hear it. Cya later for more... news |

It sure is great to hear that mythic seems to care about the wonder that is -machinima!
I'd love to get into makeing one for war BUT as great as the game may be it is lacking in a few things which make it machinima friendly. Because lack of emotes has already been mentioned.. two words- Model Veiwer. This would have to be the greatest thing that ever happened to machinima enthusiasts like ever. anyhoo yay for me posting in 2009 |

World of Warcraft Short Movie: The Battle for Light's Hope Chapel
This is the short movie that I have been working off and on with for about 2 and a half months. It is the death knight quest where the Ashbringer is purified and the lich king is warded away from Light's Hope Chapel by Tirion Fordring. I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, remember to subscribe, rate, and comment
