Fraps Output tearing

I've tried all kinds of changes in fraps and wow video settings and can't get this general issue to go away.

My direct output file after i stop recording xxx.avi playing in windows media player will have horrible tearing while in motion but when the clip ends it looks fine. No other movies do this when i play them in windows media player. VLC won't play my clips at all. Any ideas on fixing the tearing? Also when i take a screenshot with fraps it looks fine.

your computer may not be able to handle the raw footage. Try rendering the footage and see if there isn't any tearing in your final product.
